HIGH POWER was formed in autum 70 in Bordeaux, which was more known for her rock bands than for being hard-rock oriented.
Because of their brilliant live performances, HIGH POWER is soon produced by a young label from Paris (Devil's records).
The band's lineup consists of Patrick MALBOS (vocals), Jean Michel
DIETSCH (bass), Georges MOREAU (drums), Eric POUEY (guitars) and Thierry
SORONDO (guitars & synths).
The band plays a beautiful melodic Hard influenced by VAN HALEN, SCORPIONS, LED ZEPPELIN and particulary JUDAS PRIEST.
Patrick's voice is at the same time both melodic and powerful and was
undoubtedly one of the most well known voices of 80s French hard rock
scene.
The guitars can also be very ethereal or aggressive while the rythmic
section (bass / drums) builds a stroing basis and a sonic wall where
some sparse synth melodies are repercuted, providing a classical music
touch to this hard rock music.
This is really a great pleasure to hear again the first album of HIGH
POWER with a new remastered and digitalized sound which allows the music
to express its full force.
