The story begins in the year 2000 in the east of France with five musicians forging in the steel of the guitar riffs a Heavy Metal full of melodies.
Supported by a powerful rhythm section, PHENIX take their inspiration from the famous bands of the 70's and the 80's, and bring their own style to give birth to “Sacred Fire” released by Brennus in 2002. First album, this CD is the synthesis of the writing and the gigs played during their first two years.
PHENIX then play live more than ever, sharing the stage with so famous bands as KILLERS, SHAMAN, DYSLESIA, REVENGE, ADAGIO, SAMAEL, NO RETURN, CREMATORY or MISANTHROPE, and work hard to write le twelve new titles of the second album called “Wings of Fire” out in mid 2004 on Brennus.
During 2005, after several shows worth to be noticed as in the Tenth Anniversary Festival of their label Brennus, the Extrem Metal Day or both gigs given for the Twentieth Anniversary of the French Metal scene veterans KILLERS, PHENIX keeps on playing live until they finally reach the ground of the Metalheads' promised land : Germany.
After a few changes in the line-up, Sébastien TREVE, Anthony PHELIPPEAU, Bertrand GRAMOND, Eric BREZARD-OUDOT and Laurent OBERMEYER once again write some new songs and PHENIX then prepares their third album.
In the year 2007, the adventures continues with the recording the album called "Immortal Flame" in Krakow during summer, an album rich and versatile with the PHENIX’ touch, powerful and melodic, that is due to be released by BRENNUS Music in a few weeks. And this is a PHENIX Mk.IV that will take the road to present their new opus for now Vincent GENERET on bass guitar and Cédric MELLS on drums are the new rhythm section to give life to this new avatar of the firebird, alive and stronger than ever!
