Formed in 2007 in Saint Etienne, HEAVYLUTION made their debut with the release of 2 EPs (“Metal Is Our Blood” & “The Architect”).With the release of their first album “CHILDREN OF HATE” in 2015, HEAVYLUTION has won over many heavy metal fans in France and beyond. Numerous club gigs, festivals and several renowned opening actshave enabled the band to build a solid live reputation and pour out their powerful & melodic heavy all over France.
After a few years' absence, HEAVYLUTION is finally back on stage in 2025 to defend its new album “THE CYCLE”.
With this second album, THE CYCLE, Heavylution continues to assert its personality by developing a racy, melodic and sometimes aggressive heavy-metal sound that accentuates the intensity of its compositions.
The album kicks off with a concept, opening with a 4-track saga inspired by ASIMOV's Foundation Cycle, then moves on to tracks each revealing a different influence of the band: a very melodic Rain Of lies, a more aggressive Deadly Science with a heavy-speed-thrash feel, The Earth Will Remain and its classic heavy Priest, Maiden or Firewind sound, and Shepherds of Fear which alternates a thrash verse and a harmonized chorus.
The choruses, harmonies and solos follow on from each other, and the vocals, still strongly inspired by classics such as Dickinson and Halford, also reveal a slightly wider spectrum of intentions than on the previous opus, as on the final ballad Travel for Life, which is sure to surprise after such a dense album.
