DEAFENING SILENCE was founded in 1997 near Metz in Lorraine (France) by Julien Milbach (vocals), Guillaume Corsale (guitar), Seb Spadafora (guitar), Phil Wax (bass) and Romain Silvano (drums).
The band records 3 demos cd with this line up in 1998, 1999 and 2000 but after the third one, Seb leaves the band. Michael Magagna (guitar) enter the band in June 2000.
Their first album “Edge of Life”, which is a mix of Helloween and Maiden, is released en March 2003 fro Brennus music. The combo performs many gigs during 2003-2004 and has the chance to be the guest of Jeff Scott Soto. But in May 2005, Julien leaves too and Deafening Silence welcome the arrival of Nicolas Griette.
The year 2006 is used to record the 2nd album “Backlash”. Imperfections have been erased and the voice of Nico offers a larger range. The production is better done and the sound is more incisive. More Heavy, more aggressive and more personal than the first one, this record may surprise some people. “Backlash” is a come back to the Heavy Metal roots with a personnal touch that was missing on “Edge of Life”. In December 2006, Romain leaves the band just before “Backlash” release. And just a few days after, Eric Totti comes to be the new drummer. Now the new line up is ready to distil some metal on stage, using killing riffs.
